Tale of Two Table Runners

Domestic Diva by Thimble Blossoms.  I loved this pattern so much I had to make it again.

This time (right)  I used this gorgeous line of fabric called Habitat.  It reminds me of sea glass and the beach. 

                                                       

A simple fusible applique method to whip this baby up.  I selected a variegated thread to go with my 'beachy' theme... perfect!

Berry Basket

Love this little ceramic berry basket I purchased a few weeks ago.  Sometimes, something just puts a smile on your face, this was it.  So I bought it.

Now I need some fresh strawberries to fill it.  Just a few more weeks until berry season is here.

• This amazing Vancouver Canucks quilt was made by my good friend Bonnie.  It is a gift for her son, how lucky is he?

• This quilt was created by using t-shirts, pyjama bottoms (note how she even included the elastic waistband?

• The last time the Caucks made it this far in the series, my son was just six months old... he is now 17.  Nuff said

Did a little window shopping at West Elm.  I loved the texture of these driftwood balls. spheres?

Okay!  I am not getting the rocks wrapped with fishing net.  

Pretty, yes!  Practical, no! Do people actually buy rocks? 

Just Beachy

This has taken me so long to post photos from our recent getaway.  I did a little online research before we took off and found Sea Sprite to be the perfect place.   I always use Trip Advisor before we travel.  I have never, ever, been disappointed.  We found this great place located right on the beach.  Beautiful! Cannon Beach, Oregon.

On a side note:  We sat in a border line-up for 2.5 hours to get here. I thought we were getting a head start by leaving early in the morning.  Yeah! Not so much!

I did get a chance to start on my beach reading while we sat in line.

Although the sun was shining, the wind made it feel so much cooler.

I will have to remember to bring a kite next time we go.  Looks like so much fun!

• We had such a great Mother's Day! As well as the rest of all of Vancouver.

• I did not realize it would be so busy.  Lots of Mom's and Grandma's. 

• I am so thankful we have a Family pass to the aquarium,  felt great passing 

            the enormous line-up.

• This photo was taken by my youngest daughter, Emma.  She is such a natural with

            the camera.  She says she wants to be a photographer when she grows up.

            She also asked me if she can have my camera when I buy a new one

• She will have to wait awhile on that one.

• Love this sign, and of course we did!

• Mmm! We had greek food for dinner, unfortunately they had a set menu in honour of Mother's day (price increase and all)

• Hmph!  I was really looking forward to the greek platter for two.  My husband and I share, providing us with enough left-overs for the next day.
