Machine Quilting
This class designed to take the mystery out of achieving that perfectly balanced quilting stitch. Fearless Free Motion Quilting
The words free motion can evoke fear in even the most accomplished quilter. From understanding the basics of the sewing machine including tension, dropping feed dogs, thread and needle combinations to proper handling of the quilt while guiding the fabric to the needle, fear dissipates to be replaced with confidence and skill. Introduction to Hand Quilting
A hand quilted quilt can become anything from utilitarian to heirloom and everything in between. What helps to define a particular quilt are the fabrics used to create the quilt top, the thread used to stitch the layers together and the stitches per inch. In this class we will discuss fabrics, threads, needles, thimbles, marking, quilt patterns, batting and more. Come prepared for fun and relaxation while learning this time honoured tradition. Binding
Okay! Your quilt is almost done, now all you have left to do is the binding? In this fun and relaxed atmosphere, Michelle will teach you the French-fold binding technique with mitered corners. We will also discuss the advantage of bias binding and go through the steps required to achieve it.
